wet, warm drips slipping through your cheeks
friends to some, annoyance to many
but to you?
they’re a nuisance;
a mess;
an acquaintance
to be taught to not see them as a friend
to grow thinking that they’re the sign of weakness;
of fragility;
of defeat, and of embarrassment
but you know better now
you preach them as a sign of bravery;
of taking control;
of relief;
and yet,
you have to force them to come over.
will you ever,
ever,
let them be your friend?
